“Curvalicious furniture was a big design trend in 2021 and it’s set to stay,” – adds Alex Liepman, founder of art company DROOL.

2022 Home trends for February

“2022 will show more focus on furniture being artwork in its own right,” “Furniture is becoming more refined and is about the marrying of form with function—think softer curves that show off like a beautiful naked back. People are looking for comfortability along with fun, cool and/or striking pieces that make a space look interesting and memorable.”

says designer Linda Hayslett of LH.Designed.

There’s something about curved furniture silhouettes that just makes a room feel more inviting. Maybe it’s the way they curve inward, like an embracing hug, or maybe it’s because they remind us of things we loved as children. Whatever the reason, if you’re looking for ways to add a touch of warmth and comfort to your home, consider using curved furniture silhouettes. You might be surprised at how much of a difference they can make!

“Bevelled shaker cabinets are making their way again,” adds designer Sarah Stacey of Sarah Stacey Interior Design.

Shaker cabinets are one of the most popular cabinet styles on the market. They are both stylish and functional, making them a great choice for any home. If you’re looking to add a classic, yet timeless look in your kitchen, bevelled shaker cabinets may be just what you’re looking for. While there are many variations of this style, all with their own unique appeal, they all share certain characteristics that set them apart from other cabinet styles. This will definitely give your kitchen a unique look that is sure to impress.

“Sustainability is the new sexy—and, in 2022, from building materials to furniture, consumers are looking to adopt more innovative products that are designed from the start with sustainability in mind.” – says Georgie Smith and Hilary Gibbs, founders of recycled tile company LIVDEN.

Sustainability doesn’t have to mean sacrificing beautiful design. In 2022, consciously designed and responsibly manufactured products will be at the forefront of every home. Whether you’re looking for a place to set up your laptop or a space in your home that will allow you to relax comfortably, “multitasking homes” are created to serve both purposes. “Multitasking homes” have adopted more innovative products as well as aesthetically appealing, and have equipped our homes to flex work zones, relaxation zones and family zones. One iteration we’ll see much more of in 2022 are Home bars. Home bars are so versatile! With a little bit of creativity and innovation, the home bar can also serve as a great spot for family gatherings or classes. A space in your home that will allow you to work and relax comfortably with sustainable materials and bold designs were all the main components for a flexible, post-COVID working arrangement.
